Take advantage of where we live as a resource for a Movement opportunity.

This appearance is the third, once-a-month "Our One Mile Tuesday" segment on Good Day Alabama - It's Homewood's turn to showcase our beautiful greenway!
When: Tuesday, May 3rd 6:40 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.

We got CLAS!
Congratulations to HHS for being recognized as a CLAS Banner School. Yesterday at the awards luncheon I listened to all of the wonderful programs across our state. Robotics in Decatur City Schools, one-to-one initiative at Piedmont, ESL programming in Russellville City Schools, so many great programs, and of course mainly focused on student academic achievement. When Dr. Maddox, Dr. Cleveland and I were asked to come up to the podium and be recognized, I was unsure of exactly what to say about our Wellness Program. The Movement is so much more than just HHS. It's so much more than student achievement alone. The Movement is about you, those of you reading this blog. Those of you who have decided to make lifestyle changes that you model for your students and families. You make THE MOVEMENT succeed. Thanks to all you have done to give us CLAS.
