Patriot Points Defined

What is a Patriot Point?

• One Patriot Point is 30 minutes of exercise.  

What is THE BIG SCOREBOARD?

• The total of Patriot Points tallied every week using categories including points and team participation

Can my team still win the competition?

• This year is the closest PPC we have ever experienced.  Below is a breakdown of the Big Scoreboard Status.  We only have one trophy and it is still up for grabs but EVERY team has a chance to compete for PRIDE!
• EACH TEAM CAN SCORE UP TO 24 POINTS PER WEEK.  6 WEEKS REMAINING IN THE COMPETITION

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

The team with the most preregistered participants (ending 4/23) for the www.spiritscamper.com will score 10 bonus points on The BIG SCOREBOARD.  This will be a game changer for this year's PPC. HBOE has an advantage b/c of the weighted points and small team BUT every school has an advantage b/c of the number of potential walkers and runners per school.

Soooooo Close...

As Jenny Harvey states on a regular basis, "Every point counts!"  Last week our PPC ended in a tie between the Owls and HBOE, the Twitter war tie breaker resulted in an HBOE Win.  This week our reigning champs scored enough to result in another weekly winner.  One of the keys to their success is the fact that they all encourage each other to participate.  This accountability results in consistent exercise and posting of points.  Use this tactic in your schools!  Find a training partner who will hold you accountable.  At HHS, I have seen this accountability in action.  Ellie Walker meets with Angela McKenzie to walk on a regular basis weekly.  Amy Mixon meets with Ann Kreider to walk the Patriot Path and use this time together to plan upcoming curriculum for their English classes!  Win/Win.  Keep moving and be sure to post those points.

It's a TIE!

The Race is On:  PPC Weekly Challenge

WEEK 23 ends in a TIE

The weekly challenge ended in a tie between the Owls and HBOE.  The tiebreaker will be a Twitter war!  Starting at 6am Monday morning, Tweet your training using the hashtag #hwdmoves  At 10pm on Monday 3/3/14, I will compile the results from Twitter to see which team (The HBOE or SCES) tweeted the most movement!  If you are not on Twitter, you can email your workout to any friend who Tweets to allow your movement to count for your team.  Tweet peeps please help out with our non-Tweeting friends, simply include the initials of the teammate and their training accomplishment in your Tweet.  HBOE has fewer teammates so the Tweets will be weighted based on number of employees.  As for the other teams (Edgewood, HKES, HMS and HHS)- You can gain valuable Patriot Points by joining in the fun.  Feel free to Tweet your training using #hwdmoves to encourage, motivate and inspire teammates.
