Walking in Homewood

Did you know that Homewood is the most walkable city in our state?  October is Walktober for HCS employees.   High mileage runners and strictly walkers will not compete against each other this year which will make the playing field a bit more competitive.  First chance to log your mileage will be Oct. 10th.  Read the end of week blogpost from last week for details!

Wednesday, Oct. 5th is Walk/Bike to School Day.  This year instead of a system-wide event, each work-site is challenged to create the best scenario for their campus.  Walk as a team or simply walk as a soloist.  Be sure to use the hashtag #hcsExtraMile to highlight your walking on social media.

YMCA CLASSES BEGIN MONDAY, OCT. 3rd

MUST HAVE 6 PARTICIPANTS!  

• Monday-Y Cross
• Tuesday-Y Core
• Wednesday-Y Ride

Time frame for all HCS will be 3:45-4:15PM with free childcare provided.  Nationally certified instructors will lead each class.  The facility is AMAZING.
