HHS Takes the Hardware. Another strong week from CNP

HHS wins Week #15 of the PPC with big numbers from Erin Chelewski, head of HHS CNP, who completed the St. Jude Memphis Marathon.  Erin is also one step closer to the Movement Medal which is awarded to each employee who completes 4 events and the Spirit Scamper within a 12 month time frame.

Speaking of awards...... THE MOVEMENT MAKER OF THE MONTH was awarded to 6 employees to start out the school year.  To end the semester, I've selected ONE special employee who will be awarded the coveted Movement Maker coffee mug.  CONGRATULATIONS TO JOEL HENNEKE who has really stepped up his wellness game lately.  If you haven't seen Joel, it's probably because he isn't standing still.  He is walking.... a lot.  For instance, just last week one of the laptops at Pathways needed tech support.  He called Teri Nash who offered to walk up to Pathways to retrieve the laptop, but instead Joel made the trip down to HHS to deliver the laptop.  It's all about the competition and Joel is now competing.  Employees at every school are wearing FitBits and counting steps.  It's a great gadget to encourage movement and an awesome reminder to take steps to improve your wellness.

STREAKERS-  If you are still participating the "The Streak" please email me to let me know who you are and include your unisex T-shirt size.   I want to be sure to have your T-shirt size to order your #40DayStreakComplete shirt.

HMS on top for Week #14

Congratulations to HMS for taking the trophy from HBOE.  Consistent effort pays off for the middle school team.  A few weeks ago I visited the cafeteria at HMS and dished out a high five to those hard working folks.  Their days start before the sun comes up, then they stand on their feet all day and now THREE teammates from the CNP program are training in the afternoon alongside Coach Vickery.  Of course, the benefits of fitness are important, but one of the greatest benefits of "The Movement" is the fact that our employees meet each other outside of the work day and develop friendships while training together for fitness.  If you are at HMS, make your way down to the cafeteria and dish out a "High Five" to Kathy, Conzuela and A-Shanta.  While you are in the cafeteria, find Coach Vickery, she will be escorting the students into the serving area.  Give her a "High Five" also!  She is one of the most positive, motivating and hard-working people in our school system.  WIN/WIN and that equals a WIN for HMS this week.  KEEP MOVING.
