HHS Wins Week #22, Laps to Lead, Spin class going strong, Hangout Workout

Congrats to HHS for winning Week #22 and staying on top of the Patriot Point Challenge Big Scoreboard.

Last week I found a few opportunities to earn Patriot Points and encourage Movement.

  1. The first opportunity presented itself when I met with Ms. Snow to talk about an idea we are working on for employees (details soon=).  We met on the Patriot Path at HHS for a moving meeting.  We walked a little over a mile during our 15-20 minute meeting.  AND because we were active during our meeting we benefited from BDNF- READ THIS
  2. I also had the opportunity to meet with some EL families at Homewood Public Library, thanks to our EL teachers, and explain the benefits of BDNF in preparation for ACCESS testing.  I explained that even as little as 10 minutes of cardio exercise can improve academic performance-and for employees, this means your JOB performance improves when YOU move.
  3. I arrived at ASU to watch the girls basketball team compete in the Sweet 16.  After 75 minutes of sitting in my car, I decided to take advantage of the 20 minutes before game time and walk laps at ASU around the perimeter, inside the building.
I want to challenge you to find any time you can squeeze in to continue to MOVE.  Take what you can find and create a movement opportunity.

Don't forget about these movement opportunities.
  • Monday 3:45-4:45pm two 30 minute Spin classes back to back or stay for the entire hour and earn 4 Patriot Points.
  • Thursday 4pm-4:20pm Hangout Workout (EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO HOST THIS AT YOUR SCHOOL)  otherwise simply tune in on your computer at 4pm from wherever you are located.
  • ANY DAY/ANYTIME-I will post the Video2Go workout by Monday at 3pm.  You can follow the VIDEO2Go workouts by clicking on the tab above.  Scroll down the page for the latest episode.
KEEP MOVING.
